Suggest Remedy For Burning Sensation After Mining Garlic
Hi doc, I am preparing a dish that needs a lot of minced garlic. I just minced at least 3 heads of garlic with nothing but a knife and my hands. Now my fingertips which were used to hold the cloves in place burn. They have some minor cuts, not reaching the epidermis or bleeding. How do I alleviate the burning sensation? I already washed them thoroughly, applied sour cream, applied butter, and washed again.
Hello there, I can understand your trouble. You have got a chemical reaction to the garlic juice. Try to keep your fingers in cold water for some time and repeat it a few times in the next few hours. Apply lactocalamine lotion after patting your finger dry. It will take few hours to few days for this to subside. Try applying coconut oil also, that may help too. Hope this helps. Take care.
