I was diagnosed with lateral antaneous nerve of the thigh entrapment. The Dr drew a circle around the numb area. There is a rash appearing outside the circle which is clusters of small blisters. I was using cold gel packs for a few days before seeing the Dr. Can you help?

Hi.
As per your case history you are probably having herpes zoster.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral acyclovir taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
