Suggest Remedy For Cold With Breathing Difficulties
Hi Doc,I am having severe cold for about two weeks. I consulted a doctor and he prescribed Panadol and Cetirizine. Even after taking the medicine, now I feel really sick with head ache and running nose. Now I experience breathing difficulty and chest pain. Condition is getting worst During the night times.
1. Since duration is of 2 weeks thus rule out visible causes first: Hb%, WBC,absolute eosinophil count, and X-ray chest.
2. Steam inhalation 2-3 times a day. . Warm salt water gargles. . Take hot drinks, acoid cold/sour food . Cover the mouth while coughing to prevent spread of infection to others.
3. If associated with difficulty in breathing and chest pain, could be due to pleural pathology, ask for chest X-ray,but if pain is mild and air entry is normal: . Analgesic+ antiinflammatory (oxalgen) . Short course steroid . Anti tussive (linctus codeine
