Good morning, I have Asthma and do have a bad cold and dry cough and would like to get rid of this cold with a off the shelf cough medicine if this is what I should do to get some peace and comfort. I am taking 100mcg Salbutamol Sulfate for my Asthma.I need something to get rid of this cough, which is giving me a sore throat and chest.

See, for asthma treatment if u are taking salbutamol then its okay otherwise its not used in dry cough.
If u are having cold with dry cough since long time ,then u will require antibiotics like macrolides or cephalosporins or quinolones group with other symptomatic treatment.
We are not suppose to prescribe medicines here so I mentioned whole group names of antibiotics.
Cold is a viral infection but still if antibiotics given to the patient then it shows good response specially who is having constant dry cough.
So go to ENT surgeon and get prescribed
