Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Coughing at night is mostly due to allergic asthma.
Asthma don't picked up by routine blood reports and chest x ray.
PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) is must for the diagnosis of asthma.
So consult pulmonologist and get done PFT.
If PFT is showing obstructive defect then you will mostly improve with inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
