Suggest Remedy For Constant Throwing Up And Weight Loss In An Infant
Hi, My 9 month old grandaughter has always spit up since birth and has trouble with ears. Recently, has had tubes and continue to throw up and has loss weight. She is now weighting 14 lbs. She started throwing up even more yesterday and dr. said it was a virus. She has not kept anything down and I am very concerned. Think she should be in patient and on iv to build her immune system. She is so frail and tiny.
Hello and welcome to HCM Tubes or grommet in ears are inserted in case of infection. Vomiting is associated with vomiting as diagnosed by your doctor. These episodes of ear infection, viral infection and low weight are suggestive of low immune status and susceptibility to infections. Thus, investigation are required to check the immune status of the your child.. There is a possibility of deficiency which can lead to weakened immune status. Consult your paediatrician for clinical assessment and relevant investigations to look for any kind of immunodeficient disease state. In the meanwhile symptomatic treatment will have to be done.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
