Hi,

Thanks for asking on Health care Magic.

I have gone very carefully through your query.

As per your history is concerned please do check and ruled out intestinal obstruction by doing a physical examination.check her abdomen is swollen or tender.

Secondly do an abdominal CT scans to confirm the diagnosis.

Admit her and place IV line into vein in her arm so that fluids can be given.

Put a naso gastric tube through her nose and into her stomach to suck out air and fluid and relieve abdominal swelling.

Place a thin flexible tube catheter into her bladder to drain urine and collect it for testing.

So after stabilized she needs surgical treatment and obstruction part will be sent for histo-pathology examinations. So nothing to be worried at all and prognosis is 100% good. So do not take chance by staying at home, admit her now.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I am sorry for the health problems your daughter is going through.

Your daughter is suffering of severe constipation, for which she has been in hospital for over a week. If they ran colonoscopy, and nothing worrisome found, then, paralysis of the bowels has been excluded. You can send the tests reports she ran, so I can analyze them and evaluate her case further.

Next, increase in water intake by mouth, oral laxatives and a bit of physical activity and fiber supplements will help her bowels move.

If she has suffered of bowel infection and diarrhea recently, and has taken meds for that, please take note that they can stop the normal movement of the bowels explaining why she is not having a bowel movement for 1 week now.

Another consultation with gastroenterologist and another colonoscopy is recommended to exclude paralysis of the bowels.

I also suggest to start probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora and take antibiotics and/or anti-mycotics as per fecal lab tests.

Wish fast recovery.
