Suggest Remedy For Cough & Throat Pain

Hi, I got a cold accompanied by a persistent cough about 10 days ago. I started feeling better but over the last 2 days the cough worsened, I had a fever, and my throat hurts so badly I can barely swallow. I saw a doctor this morning who gave me a prescription for antibiotics. But when I got home, I looked down my throat in the mirror and one side of my throat is covered in white spots and the other is incredibly swollen with white spots and multiple large black areas. Is this a normal infection or do I need to be concerned? Also, how can I deal with the pain of what feels like an open wound in my throat?

Hi, your description of throat looks like Acute Pharyngo tonsillitis -follicular tonsillitis. You did not mention the antibiotic name. before starting antibiotic therapy take throat swab for culture sensitivity. Take some analgesics, decongestant throat lozenges, salt water gorgling thrice daily after meals. it may settle down 48 hrs after starting antibiotic therapy. Take care.
