Suggest Remedy For Cough

MY 5 year old has had a terrible cough. We have been to the dr twice because he had a fever it went away fever came back with the same cold two weeks later. Since then fever is still gone he is on an antibiotic and an inhaler...the problem is at night for the past week he throws up so much fluid. I am assuming it is the mucus but it is just awful. Being Saturday I did not know if there was an OTC medicine that I could give him that might dry him up.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Better not to give any Over the counter (OTC) drug to the child. This can be dangerous.
In my opinion, you should take him to the pediatrician and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray.
By history and description, possibility of lung infection (pneumonia) is more.
So chest x ray is needed for the diagnosis of pneumonia.
He may need higher antibiotic intravenously to control fever and cough.
So don't give any OTC drug.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
