Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K , an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your son is having myopia in tight eye and myopic astigmatism in left eye. This requires correction in the form of spectacles.

The answer for your question is as follows.
1. Wearing spectacles will not decrease the refractive power but prevents rapid increase of it.
2. Intact the refractive error increases inspite of correction as the eye ball grows with age till the age of 18-20 years.
3. Hence he requires regular eye examination once in a year to find out any changes and correction accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
