Suggest Remedy For Discomfort From Circumcision

My brother just had his circumcision, but now he's having trouble sleeping.. It's like he always has to lift up his shorts so the cloth wouldn't touch his newly circumcised penis... How can my brother sleep easy without him always holding up his shorts every night?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your anxiety.
The shorts will rub against the penis, at the site of surgery and cause pain from friction there.
Moreover, there're normally about 4-6 erections at night.
This also causes pain, from stretching and person will be in discomfort.
It's best for him to use very loose under clothes, at night, instead of shorts.
He can use an ointment, before going to sleep. That help's in many people.
If you've any doubts, you may send it as a direct question,to me.

General & Family Physician Dr. Ralph Chambers's  Response
Hello
This can be quite painful for at least a week after the operation.

I suggest he not wear underwear or shorts while he's in bed and he can take ibuprofen for the pain
