Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a severe head injury just over a year ago and experienced dizziness and excruciating headaches for months but it eventually passed. I have noticed over the past month or so I am having the same type dizziness again. It only lasts for a few seconds and is not a daily occurrence. This is not after standing up or bending over. Last weekend I was lying in bed watching tv with my granddaughter early one morning. I grabbed her arm so she could get help for me because I truly thought I was going to faint. It passed as quickly as it came and hasn't happened since. I am on blood pressure medications that state may cause dizziness but have been on them for a while. I do not experience headaches with these spells.
Thank you for asking! History of past head injuries make it worth examination and complete clinical correlation.we need to work up a little on this to clear horrific causes of dizziness. Once out of the woods al it would need would be some meclizine and betahistines. Rest assured you need a vestibular function assessment and central cranial workup to rule out central or peripheral vertigo. As their are thousand of reasons for this dizziness.we need to narrow the spectrum take care
