Suggest Remedy For Drowsiness When On Medication For Typhoid

I was diagnosis with Typhoid 14th June, 2015 and doc gave me antibiotic for a week. I have been eating all semi-liquid foods since then but now (from 22nd June, 2015) I am back to office. I still feel bit drowsy and weak. Do I still need to take rest? Do I start my normal food pattern now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Drowsiness and fatigue could be a side effect of the antibiotics and can also occur due to inadequate rest. Since it has just been 1 week after diagnosis, I would suggest you to take rest for a week more in order to reduce any fatigue. Avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids like water, fruit juices and tender coconut.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
