Suggest Remedy For Ear Pain After Injury Through Q-tip
My son poked a Q-tip too far into his ear while cleaning it. He felt a terribly sharp pain and now he has pain on and off every 10 minutes or so. No blood or fluids though. I have him laying down with a small heating pad set on low heat. He says that it helps. Should I give him some Ibuprofen and wait it out for a couple days? Or does this need to turn into an ER visit?!
Put eargesic drops [0.25%] for 2-3 days. You should also consult once with ear nose throat ENT doctor [he should once checked with otoscope even eargesic drops can used after examination. Ibuprofen 5mg/kg dose can be given.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
