Suggest Remedy For Enlarged Tonsil, On And Off Tonsil Stones And Difficulty In Swallowing

I have a enlarged tonsil on one side of my throat, which has been a permanant issue for the last 11 years. However I have tonsil stones occasionally when I drink whole milk or eat icecream. I have trouble swallowing my food and get choked easliy . Do you think it is just my tonsil or could something else be wrong as well. and should my tonisls be removed.

1. Tonsillectomy can be advised if:
. Tonsillar lymph nodes are persistently enlarged and tender.
. When a hidden septic focus is suspected (low grade fever, anorexia, not gainig weight)
. Persistent dry cough and mouth breathing is there.

2. Removal of Tonsils will have no health related issues, and seek an opinion of ENT Doctor.

PS. Avoid fried food, cold drinks, ice cream and taken tablet Septilin till need for Tonsillectomy is desired.

3. Regarding difficulty in swallowing it xould be due to enlarged tonsils but prior to any medication ask for Barium swallow, indirect laryngoscopy, and oesophagoscopy.

PS. bland and soft diet, more of milk, avoid hot drinks and spicy foods.
. Do not lie down immediately after food, take small, non bulky meals.
. Head high position at night.
