Suggest Remedy For Eye Floaters With History Of Eye Disorder

I have an eye disease, can t remember the name of it right now, but I have to check an eye chart with a dot in the center and as soon as I cannot see the dot I am to call my opthamologist immediately. Anyway, I have started seeing a light in my right eye that looks like fire embers falling to the ground. Is this anything?

Hello,

. It seems from the history that you are having flaoters. Floaters are caused by vitreous degenerations and it is a benign condition and no treatment is required.

But all cases of floaters need to be evaluated by indirect ophthalmoscopy to rule out associated retinal conditions like retinal tear or retinal thinning.

Yes it is true that floaters may not go but they tend to decrease in severity with time. If floaters are causing problems, they can be treated by laser treatment. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein
