Suggest Remedy For Fever And Bruising After An Insect Bite

I have an insect bite, running fever,site is larger than silver dollar, sunken center, painful enough for ibuprofen th open, no drainage, scab dark, just in center went to walk in clinic was started on bacterium, size is increasing slowly and pain is no better...think I was bitten on Friday went to clinic on Sunday...is there anything else I should look for or do?... YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
It is unfortunate that you have got insect bite. Also from your description it appears that it has been infected along with local allergic reaction. Kindly do the following.
1. Wash the area of bite with water and using mild antiseptic like Savlon.
2. Apply ice packs to reduce swelling.
3. Take Tablet. Loratidine once a day for 3 days to control itching and reduce swelling.
4. Take antiinflammatory analgesic Tablet. Ibuprofen + Paracetamol combination twice a day for 5 days after food for fever and pain.
5. Apply Calamine lotion at bite site.
6. Continue and finish the course of antibiotics which has been started.
Don't worry. You will get better soon.
