Inadequate antibiotic course could cause relapse . As many patients become carrier after typhoid fever and this bacteria remains dormant in gall bladder and can shed off the bacteria in stool for more than a year . That s why a complete course of antibiotic should be done to eliminate the bacteria completely from system if the cause of fever is found a relapse .
