Suggest Remedy For Flat Nipples With Less Milk Secretion Post Childbirth

hi, My wife given birth baby boy on 14.06.15 ,weight of baby is 2kg500grm. after delivery she cant feed the baby, milk is not secretion, she had flat nipple as well so Dr. advise to use nipple sheild. we tried that shield but it wont worth.from that v use bottle feed (Dexolac Stage 1). He is active, pass urine regularly,motion once in a day ,but he look small in size, is that any problem. when he will gain weight more ? today we check the weight he regain it (2kg.500grm.)

I understand your concern.
The flat nipples could have been managed by care in pregnant stage itself. Well even now.. she can try to pull the nipple out ( by feeding with nipple shield/ manual gentle pulling of nipples / by applying a syringe with -ve pressure on the nipple & try to suck it out.).
- Though a difficult job to do, it's possible to get it done.
- Frequent trials to breast feed the baby would help secretion of milk/ some medicines like metoclopramide help . If the secretions start mother's milk can be fed with a properly boiled bottle.
- Breast milk is best food for baby. In case it is not available, give some other human milk/ formula milk with utter care. Top feed is to be accompanied by multivitamin drops.
Please arrange the best possible feed for baby. Mother's love, handling with emotions also play great rle in weight gain of baby.Baby will start weight gain , please don't worry.
