I have itchy patches that turn into a sore, that ends up braking down into a crater like soar, can be very painfull and takes forever to heal, leaving dark scars.....I was first told it was foliculitus...however I have never had anything like this before....could it be allergies?
Hi. As per your case history of folliculitis, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
