Suggest Remedy For Forearm Swelling Due To Bug Bite

I was bit by a mosquito today on my forearm and it has swelled up to almost the size of a baseball. The skin is tight and painful. Also it s very pink and extremely hot to the touch. I always have a lot of swelling with mosquito bites but this one really hurts. What can I do and should I be concerned?

Hi
You seem to have developed insect bite reaction.
I would recommend you to take anti allergic like tablet chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg twice daily and apply steroid antibiotic combination cream like mometasone and fusidic acid cream on the affected area twice daily.
If it doesn't improve in a day or two take a short course of oral steroid like tablet prednisolone 20 mg once daily for 5 days.
Regards
