hiii dear

resperidone is antipsychotic medication. Due to its dopamine blockage activity it produces extra pyramidal symptoms like tremor, salivation, rigidity etc

to avoid this it is necessary to give pacitane with it
pacitane is anticholinergic medicine which prevent all this

if she is on 4 mg than pacitane cab be given 4 to 8 mg along with it

so there is two options
1st is gradually increase the dose of pacitane
2nd is change in medicines to atypical anti psychotic which has minimal side effect and low chances of tremors
consult your doctors regarding it
thank you
take care

Dear User,Thanks for using health care magic.
As you were not able to mention her age and course of illness I will be not able to tell exactly. But yes i can guide you best according to my knowledge. These tremors might be side effect of risperidone called exrapyramidal symptoms. We generally prescribe pacitane with risperidone to prevent this. But in her case pacitane was given after. As she falls frequently , it might be dystonia which is also side effect of antipsychotic.
You van discuss with your doctor and shift her to aripiprazole , zyprasidone or any other medicine decided after her detail illness history, physical status and effectiveness of medicines.
One possibility also there that she might have some infarct in brain and due to that neurological problem she has frequent fall, so you should rule out that with MRI brain.
'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".

Hi,

I admire your positive outlook and congratulate you for the attitude.

I think, she had some side effects due to antipsychotics.

In that case, you need either high dose of pacitane/dine or beta blocker like propranalol. That would help to control these side effects.

She can also try to reduce the dose of risperidone. May be these falls could be due to over sedation.

You should consult a psychiatrist for better control of such side effects.

Hope this helps.
