Suggest Remedy For Gas And Pain In Abdomen And Groin Area

Hi Doctor. My name is Tim, I am 70 years old and have experienced relatively bad gas pains since breakfast. The discomfort seems to be on my lower right side from my waist to my right groin. I still have my appendix, I have a history of Diverticulitis and Eschemic Colitis. Should I be concerned about this discomfort?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Discomfort on lower right side of abdomen is probably not due to gastritis or gastrointestinal problem.
Pain on right lower side of abdomen can be due to appendicitis.
The pain associated with appendicitis is initially around the umbilicus and then moves to lower right side of abdomen.
Appendicitis accompanied by fever and prostration.
history of diverticulitis and ischemic colitis suggests that the pain is due to these causes.
However, a clinical assessment by your primary healthcare provider will be helpful to determine the possible cause of pain in right lower abdomen.
In the meanwhile you can take painkiller for the pain.

Thanks and take care
