Suggest Remedy For Hair Bumps

Hi, I have an irritating problem. EVERY TIME i shave, i get these hideous hair bumps on my bikini area. Some of them are very painful to touch and others aren't. I exfoliate and have used otc skin creams and some prescribed ointment, but neither have worked. Plus I'm embarrassed for my boyfriend to see me down there because he's already made it known that hair bumps disgust him. I just want them gone once and for all... PLEASE HELP!!!!
