I have had multiple major direct shocks (job related) and have been diagnosed with A fib within the year with a low heart rate. I have had 2 unsuccessful cardioversions and wanted know if a pacemaker would limit my abiiity to work in the electrical field?

Hi,welcome to HCM.
Yes a pacemaker would certainly limit your work ability due to potential interactions between the pacemaker functioning and the electrical jerks of external current. These interactions have prompted the development of atrial fibrillation in you.It can also run the risk of developing fatal cardiac arrythmias like ventricular fibrillation.Professional change can help to prevent such complications.
Consult your doctor for further queries.
Thank you
