Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is mainly due to obesity. Obesity is due to high calorie food intake, high sugar intake and sedentary lifestyle. fatty liver disease may progressed into hepatitis which may progressed to cirrhosis and in turn cancer in some individuals.
Fatty liver disease is deposition of fat into the liver cells. Since obesity induced insulin resistance is the main cause for fatty liver, weight reduction is the primary treatment. Serum SGPT, a liver specific enzyme elevated in liver cell damage. Decreasing blood levels of these enzymes indicates the healing of the liver. Balanced diet and regular physical activity helps in weight loss.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
