Suggest Remedy For Hot Flashes And Odor After Total Thyroidectomy

I had a total thyroidectomy a little over a month ago. Before the thyroidectomy, my TSH was 2.33. Now, my TSH is .626. I had a total hysterectomy 2.5 years ago, and have never had any hot flashes until now, and I have them constantly now since the thyroidectomy. I am on 125mcg of Levothyroxine per day. I could almost live with the hot flashes, but there is also an odor associated with it as well, and my skin is as oily as a teenager. I am 48 years old. This is crazy!!! My surgeon says that my TSH is in normal levels so all is well as far as he is concerned. I did not have a malignancy. My nodules turned out to be follicular adenomas, which is a good thing, but the aftermath is pretty hard to take.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You are gone through total thyroidectomy and its follicular adenoma so its good that you don't have malignancy.

Your thyroid levels are also normal so nothing to worry about thyroid hormones level or dosage of levothyroxine.

You are 48 year old. So your hot flush may be due to menopausal symptoms. You have gone through hysterectomy but your ovary is working. Now functions of ovary is decreased and it can leads to hot flush. So consult our gynaecologist once.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
