Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is there something wrong with my eye? It feels heated, like hotter than my other eye. It s my right eye. It feels sort of like a burn. You know how when you have a burn and you put something cold on it and it feels better, but put that same cold thing elsewhere and it s way too cold? It s like my eye is the burn and anywhere else is... well, anywhere else. I ve been holding a small cubie thing there to cool it down, but when I take the cubie off the heating starts again from the back of my eye and spreads around to the back of my eyelids. The weird thing is, my left and right eye look the same, it doesn t look like there s a problem.
Burning sensation in eye are signs of dryness and inflammation. Its feeling better with application of ice as cooling the surface produced the anesthetic effect which goes of immediately after removal of ice. You can use artificial tears and anti-histamine/Nsaid eye drops to control the inflammation and moisten the eye surface. If this does not help consult the ophthalmologist in your town.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Ophthalmologist
