Suggest Remedy For Hypothyroid

Hi, I am single and since my periods had become lighter, i visited a gynec and they did necessary test and I was diagnosied with hypothyriod, was given bigomet for thrice a day with thyroxin for thryoid, My thyriod has become normal now, should i still continue with bigomet or not. I am 5 feet and weigh 70 kg

Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Bigomet is metformin tablets which is usually prescribed for polycystic ovaries (menstrual irregularities), obesity and type 2 diabetes. This drug has no effect on thyroid. So you have to continue the medication till the doctor has suggetsed even though your thyroid functions are normal.

You are obese and need to decrease your weight by around 15 kg. Bigomet will help you in controlling the weight.
