Suggest Remedy For Indentation On Top Of Head Post Injury

I banged my head earlier today and have a dent on the top of my head. The bang was very hard against a concrete window surround as I shut a velux window. I have been sleeping for a few hours The dent is larger than a 50pence. Should I go to A and E in the morning.?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The indentation that you have developed on head is probably due to soft tissue injury.
A X-ray of head will determine the status of underlying bones of the skull.
The X-ray is required also to rule out any fracture to the underlying bone and damage to underlying brain parenchyma.
As you have mentioned that you have been sleeping, which may occur after concussion.
Concussion injury can cause excessive sleeping and can also cause symptoms later after a gap of few hours or days.
Thus, it is important to rule out all these lesions and yes you may visit your A and E.

Thanks and take care
