Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My friend just fell off a horse and landed on her right hip. It hurts to walk and dragging her leg backwards is the best way to move for her. Her hip is hurting really bad. She can't lay down or sit. What is the best thing to so now before we can get transportation to a hospital?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. From the description given you about the fall of your friend, it appears that she could have sustained fracture of femur (thigh bone). You need to immobilize the joint and take her to the nearest X-ray centre and get X-ray done of hip region. In the meantime, she can take Tablet. Diclofenac after food to get relief from pain. It would be better to take her to these centres with proper care in ambulance. Kindly consult Orthopedic Surgeon with the report for opinion and management at the earliest. Hope the information provided would be helpful. Al the best.
