Suggest Remedy For Involuntary Jerks In A Child With ADHD
my 5yr old son has ADHD and is on adderall xr 5mg 1qd and intuniv 1mg was added recently. I haven t been giving it too him daily. I was told to try to switch the two meds around so I did yesterday since then he has developed tics he did have some minor ones like eye rolling but now its all the time and is including body twitches and involuntary body jerks I m very concerned and am stopping all his meds. I m afraid he is showing signs of Tourette which he does not have it has me worried
As per my clinical experience, stopping all medicines of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is great mistake of concern. He needs addition of anti convulsant medication which will be also helping in his neurology condition as well.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
