Suggest Remedy For Irritation In The Vagina After Unprotected Sex

Hi, my meatus is faintly irritated the day after I had unprotected vaginal sex with my girlfriend. We both haven t had much sexual activity in the past 6 months. I have been her only partner and she has been my only partner. She was not born with an std and neither was I. We had sex for quite a while, a half hour or so. I didn t ejaculate while we had sex but when I got home that night I had masturbated and ejaculated. I had no symptoms until I woke up this morning. I also had a meatotectomy when I was a child. What could be the issue? Should I be worried? I also have anxiety so the problem may be amplified by my mind.

Hi,

Irritation in the vagina after unprotected sex could be due to several reasons, including a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or an allergic reaction to semen or lubricants. Since you and your partner have not had much sexual activity recently, your partner's vaginal flora may have changed, leading to an imbalance that is irritating.

It is important to get tested for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) to rule out any potential infections that could be causing your symptoms. Some STIs, such as chlamydia and gonorrhea, can cause irritation and inflammation in the genitals.

In addition, it is important to practice safe sex by using condoms to reduce the risk of STIs and unwanted pregnancy. If you are experiencing discomfort or irritation, it is best to avoid sexual activity until you have been evaluated by a healthcare provider.

To alleviate symptoms of irritation, you can try taking warm baths with Epsom salt or using over-the-counter creams or ointments that are designed to soothe irritated skin. It is important to avoid using harsh soaps or douches in the genital area, as this can further irritate the skin. Drinking plenty of water and wearing cotton underwear can also help promote vaginal health. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it is important to see a healthcare provider for further evaluation and treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

Irritation at meatus may be due to unprotected intercourse.
1) You may need to use a antihistamine like tab. Benadryl for 3 days
2) Evion cream is to be applied externally twice daily.
3) If your irritation doesn't come down, you may need to use an antibiotic orally and external application.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
