Suggest Remedy For Itchiness And Bumps On The Feet

Hi, I started taking tramadol extended release Monday. Two days ago, my feet stated itching and I found dozens of bumps on each foot. I thought the bumps were mosquito bites, but they have not begun to clear up and have grown larger. They don t look like mosquito bites, more like chigger or flea bites. I was around mosquitoes Thursday night. The bumps itch intensely, so much so that I m waking up six or seven times in the night. I ve applied calamine lotion, benadryl gel, hydrocortisone cream, an extra strength benadryl cream, and a baking soda warm water paste in the last 48hours to find relief from the itching. Nothing has helped. Could this be a rash caused by the tramadol, ConZip brand. I took IR tramadol years ago with no I ll effects.

Hi.
As per your case-history you are having either papular urticaria (caused by flea-bite) or tramadol induced erythema multiforme.

Tramadol can cause a drug reaction called erythema multiforme causing ithcy bumps on palms and soles and some-times mouth.
As you had no such episode on previously taking tramadol the chances of papular urticaria is more.

My treatment advice-
1. Wear full sleeve shirts and pants to avoid further mosquito bites.
2. It is better to apply a more potent topical steroid than hydrocortisone ( like betamethasone or mometasone) and also take a higher anti-histaminic medicine like hydroxyzine twice daily.
3. Other treatment options include short-course oral steroid, oral NSAIDs only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
