Suggest Remedy For Itching In The Limbs

I had food poisoning 6 days ago after eating seafood (salmon and mahi). About 1-2 days later, and ever since, I have had bouts of severe itching-primarily bottoms of feet, palms of hands, but also on legs, and groin. Any ideas what may have caused this? Also, would Claritin or Zyrtek help to alleviate the itching?
