Suggest Remedy For Lack Of Appetite After UTI

I recently had both a UTI & a kidney stone. Since then, I ve had little appetite...but more bothersome....my taste buds don t seem to be working. I know that sounds strange...but I ve never experienced a loss of taste before. I have no idea if they are related ...but those are the only recent problems. Oh....& I also had gastric bypass about 6 yrs ago if that s important.

Hello,

You had UTI and kidney stone, since then you have lack of appetite. You had a gastric bypass 6 years ago. You can take liquid meals, such as smoothies and protein drinks if you have a lack of appetite. Adding herbs, spices, or other flavorings to meals may also encourage the taste buds to help you eat. Avoid sedentary lifestyle, have a short walk, take adequate water and fluids to prevent dehydration.

Avoid constipation, take laxatives so that your bowel is clear and you feel hungry. You can take enzymes to stimulate your appetite and taste buds. Take Syrup Aristozyme, 10 ml, half an hour before each meals. You can take it in the form of capsules also. Take papaya raw and cooked or ripe, it stimulates hunger by helping digestion and aids better metabolism.

Take food good for the liver or supplement like Liv 52, it promotes easy digestion and better appetite. You can also take appetite stimulants, such as dronabinol (Marinol) and Megestrol (Megace ES). Get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done to check if you have UTI. Get it treated for kidney stone, consult a urologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
