Hello, 1) your mother has Hepatits-C related liver failure with portal hypertension 2) Liver failure cause collection of water in stomach. Portal hypertension cause bleeding in intestine which make stool black colored. (this also require to check hemoglobin level frequently) 3) liver transplant would improve liver function which was damaged due to hepatitis-C but presence of this virus in blood make new transplated liver susceptible for hepatitis also. And this require strict medical treatment to prevent repeat episode of hepatitis 4) liver transplantation is associated with some complications in case of your patient due to age, other illness, hepatitis C, prolonged liver failure (early stage of liver failure has good outcome after transplantation)
