Suggest Remedy For Loss Of Hearing Post Ear Infection

Hello, I ve been treated for an ear infection ( right ear) since 10 days. Saw an ENT specialist but the drop he gave me did not improve the situation. I am now on antibiotics for 5 days ( it s day 3 ) with another GP and if situation is better I still suffer from ear loss, blocked ear and now there is a whistling sound when I blow air through my nose. I am a teacher so it is getting difficult for me having to concentrate all the time to try and hear ( I am deaf 25% in left ear).

Hello and welcome.

I understand your situation and clearly there is some accumulatio of fluid which may require drainage, but only if you do not respond well enough to the medications. Wait for a while and see if there is an improrement, in the meantime you could request your doctor for hydrogen peroxide ear drops to help with wax removal, if that helps.

If the hearing does not improve in a few days time, then drainage may be required.

Best wishes.
