Suggest Remedy For Low Grade Fever And Lower Back Pain Post Intake Of Wysolone Tablet

My mother aged 52 years, recently conformed NMO (1 month), now she is taking wyslone 20 mg once a day and recently doctor added Azathropine 50 mg twice a day. after the usage of azothropine for 3 days she is feeling slight fever and low lower left back pain. Shall we contine the medication?

Hi,

If there is no other symptoms apart from fever and back pain, we need not worry now. This may be a viral fever. Let her take paracetamol tablets 3 times a day for 3 days(after food). Take some rest, drink plenty of fluids and have a soft diet.

Wysolone and azathioprine can be continued now. During simple illnesses like viral fever and flu, no need to withhold or modify(may need temporary discontinuation or dose modification during more sever infections as these are immunosuppressants).

If fever is not getting down in 3 days or fresh symptoms appear, kindly take her to doctor for further evaluation.
