Hi I have a really weird illness it feels like a virus I get muzzy head migraine like, sneeze but without a proper cold affects my left eye I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which also has flue like symptoms I know. I have just finished course of antibiotics but done nothing. I have also just been prescribed Gabapentin but I am really worried about all the side affects you get with them. I am 64
You are a 65 years old female and have Fibromyalgia. You have complaints of headache which is persistent. You are advised to take Gabapentin for fibromyalgia. Gabapentin is an anti-convulscent drug with good analgesic action. Please don't get worried about the side effects of the drug. The drug may cause nausea, dizziness, sedation, edema as side effects but these effects are short-lived and improve with time. For migraine I would advise you to consult a neuropsychiatrist for evaluation. If headache comes out to be migraine then medicines like propranolol, amitryptiline, sodium valproate can help to reduce frequency of headache. Medicines like OTC analgesics can help in severe attacks of headache. Visit a doctor for prescription of these drugs.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
