Suggest Remedy For Multiple, Itchy, Painful Bumps On Genital Area
Hi there. I have multiple fairly big bumps that have appeared in my genital area. They do hurt and one of them has blood coming out of the top of it. I ve been checked for STD s before and the results came back negative. I m not quite sure what they are but they ve been itching and they re crusty looking. Please give me your opinion.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Multiple itchy bumps on genital area with one of them bleeding and others developing crust is unlikely to be due to sexually transmitted disease (STD). STD has been ruled out by performing tests for STD. Such type of bumps can be infectious in nature. Genital skin is rich in hair follicles thus folliculosis (infection and inflammation of hair follicles) can be one of the possibilities of bumps on the genital region. In addition, boils can also occur in genital area. However, itching in the seen in fungal infections or some primary skin lesion. A clinical assessment of the lesions is required for diagnosis, relevant investigations and thus management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
