Hi, my son is 2 1/2 yrs now and he has not yet started having solid foods completely till now... Doctors have told us that his case is likely to be of a narrow food pipe due to which he gets the pain while swollowing lumps of food... We have tried giving him semi solid food but that too he throws out.
Dear service user, Thank you for writing to healthcaremagic. I got your question and understand your concern about your son's swallowing problem. The difficulty in swallowing might be due to structural obstruction of food pipe. The narrowing of localized part may be due to web. Webs may be present since birth. In children, symptoms of poor feeding may not begin until the child is taking in solid foods. Congenital webs often are imperforate, allowing liquids to pass easily through. They can be treated successfully by surgical correction. Kindly consult pediatrician for this problem. He will assist you to find the cause of difficulty in swallowing. I hope this will help you. Warm regards.
