Suggest Remedy For Neck Stiffness After An Accident Indicate?
I am a 22 yr. old female weighing around 108 pounds. Got into a car accident last night, neck is stiff. Went to the emergency room and they perscribed me 800mg. However I cant swallow pills so I took 400mg of childrens liquid, will this make me drousy? I have to go to work in less than an hour.

Hello,
As your neck stiffness is a result of an accident, you need to undergo the following tests:
1) X-ray cervical spine
2) CT scan head if you have any headache or loss of consciousness or seizure
3) MRI cervical spine if X-ray is inconclusive of the results of involvement of cervical spine
For the time being, you can take following treatment:
1) Tab. Aceclofenac 100mg daily twice for 5 days to reduce pain
2) Tab. Chlorzoxazone daily twice to relieve the stiffness
3) To avoid gastric irritation, tab. Pantoprazole 40mg daily once before food
4) Physical therapy can be started after relief of pain
5) Physical therapy strengthens the neck muscles and decreases stiffness
Children's liquid won't be effective in adults. So you need to take the tablet.
