Suggest Remedy For Odourless, Painful Swelling On The Vaginal Opening

Hello. I ve been having an issue for about 1.5-2weeks now. However, the same problem of crusting has been intermittent since giving vaginal birth in November 2013. I don t shave, and I get this dried, crusty discharge that tangles and accumulates near the vulvular opening, outer labia, borderline inner labia. (Also, I ve almost always had the issue of underwear staining discharge that is slightly yellow as well.) So I notice this crust in my Pubic hair almost every time I urinate, at which I pull/comb it out or moisten the toilet paper to soften it and then physically remove it with my fingers. This discharge is odorless, painless, I have no swelling, or redness or pain during urination or pain/discomfort of any kind. I recently examined the crust more closely and I can tell you that it is extremely dry, sometimes in clumps that feel almost solid as rock, other times is flaky.. The color is white with a tinge of darker green, and when I shower (usually every other day) it starts almost immediately after, specifically about 4-5 minutes later. Please help me? I pray you can give me the information I desperately want.. Was scheduled to have my yearly on the 6th of this month, but I have no transportation and had to reschedule. Thank you for your much-appreciated review and thoughts. And yes, I m aware that your advice doesn t replace medical treatment or the direct care of my gynecologist I m just very curious because I ve searched to no avail online using several different terms and the crust and greenness are always accompanying itching, foul odor, swelling, pain, etc: symptoms in which I do not have. Thank you and God bless. Sincerely, Stephanie

Anesthesiologist 's  Response
Hello,

In my opinion, the discharge you have been experiencing is not pathological as its not associated with any itching, swelling, redness or burning sensations. Crusty discharge is due to drying of your vaginal secretions. So, I mean to say it's not due to any disease but it's normal with you.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
