Hello,

Pain can be relieved by the following medications:
1) Pain relieving medications like NSAIDs like tab. Ibuprofen or tab. Naproxen to be taken twice daily for 14 days.
2) To avoid gastric irritation, tab. Pantop is daily before food.
3) If you are suffering from bleeding disorders or kidney failure, you can't use NSAIDs. So then you have to go for opioid like tab. Hydrocodone, oxymoron or tramadol.
4) Complete bed rest is advised for 6-8weeks for spine fracture and bulging discs.
5) After Pain relief, physical therapy to strengthen the paraspinal musculature is recommended.

If your pain doesn't subside in 2 weeks, you may consult a spine surgeon for further evaluation. Regarding your emotional symptoms, you may contact a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
