Hello,

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, esophageal pain is due to reflux of stomach contents.

Omeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors, while they are quite good at lowering stomach acid, do not fix structural problems.

There is likely to be reflux causing esophageal reflux which is hard to fix and there can be secondary scar tissue blocking the esophagus which is easy to fix.

Basically a study to look at the esophagus would be indicated if there is the suspicioun of esophageal problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
