Suggest Remedy For Pain And Swelling In Ankle

Last year on july 4th 2009 i sprained my ankle and didnt go to the doctor until october and then found out i had a hairline fracture so i wore a cast for 2 weeks and then a boot for 2-3 months and the after that took it off around december bc i had an x-ray done saying it was healed up! Well,It started hurting again around the first of the year and quit and then the beginning of october of this year it started hurting me really bad the pain level starting at a 7 to 9. During the day it would be a 7 to 8 and at night a 9 to sometimes a 10. It also swells the size of a baseball sometimes a softball! Why is it still bothering me this much after a year?
