Suggest Remedy For Pain And Swelling In Hand After Stroke

Yes, my mother had a stroke on Dec 19 which has affected her left side. Her hand has been swollen since the stroke and she has no strength in the hand, can't move it. It is very painful, inflammation and has now swelled up to her wrist. it is hot to touch and has red/purple spots on her arm,. her dr first treated her with ibuprofen and has since oput her on gabapentin but nothing has helped. I continue to keep ice on it. fingers are 2 x the size of her right hand fingers. she is under hospice care but her only pain at present is with her hand
