Suggest Remedy For Pain And Swelling In Shoulder Blade

My nine year old son was hit on his shoulder blade last night while playing baseball. Today he is having a lot of discomfort and says it hurts real bad when he moves his arm. It does not appear to be swollen and is only slightly bruised. Should we take him to the doctor?
