Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have frequent heart and chest pains after taking meloxicam 15mg daily. I had been taking it for about 4 months and the pains and tightness are daily. Sometimes they burn, sting, or are sharp. They are also in various areas in my chest. They aren't excruiciating though.
General & Family Physician, Dr. B M Gupta's Response
Meloxicam is a 'NSAID' drug given for pain & inflammation. It may cause ulceration of stomach. Stop it. There are better options. tramadol, celecoxic.naproxen, aceclofenic etoricoxic ,cause less side effects. You can take Digene gel ( ant acid), several times a day. Consult your doctor for physical examination & rule out other causes of chest pain. He may prescribe pantaprozole(P P I ). Avoid smoking, alcohol, cola, coffee, junk food. Take fresh fruits, dairy products. Exercise regularly. FEEDBACK.
